Fire Life Safety Services
Inspection Testing Repair Replacement
Bright Sheet Metal Company has in its employ, NEMI HVAC Fire Life Safety certified technicians. For years, Bright Sheet Metal has been the trusted company with providing their Life Safety Service to many office buildings, healthcare, and manufacturing facilities in the Central Indiana area. The BSM technicians are well versed in OSHA safety and infectious control measures.
Inspection of Dampers: As part of our Inspection Service we offer:
1. Locate and activate all dampers in the facility. The fusible link will be removed to verify the damper fully closed and functions properly.
2. Reset all dampers and replace link.
3. The location of all fire and smoke dampers will be marked on the facility's drawings. An unique identifier will coincide with the I.D. sticker that will be located on the damper. A label will be affixed to the ceiling at damper's location. We also offer a label indictating the unit or fan number, air type, or isolation warnings on access door of damper.
4. Unique Identifiers are created to help locate dampers. They can indicate the Fire Zone, Building Location, and the page number of the print.
5. A final inspection report will be presented with detailed information such as deficiencies and damper characteristics. If a damper failed, a detailed explanation will be included.
6. Many deficiencies can be corrected at the time of inspection.
Repairing Dampers: As part of our repair services, we offer:
1. Smoke damper and combination damper actuator replacement.
2. Actuator linkage adjustment to allow for proper closure.
3. Internal adjustments to allow proper closure.
4. Repair of binding tracks, removal of screws or blades that may be preventing full closure.
5. Replacement of damper.
6. Many repairs can be rectified at the time of inspection.
7. A report will be provided of dates, locations and details of repairs made.
